This scarf reminds me of India... because I knit a lot of it on the plane to and from there. As well as some morning knitting while staying with our friends there.
the yarn was spun by me (merino and tencel content)
pattern here
Start: Cast on 26 stitches (to make it wider or narrower add or remove stitches in groups of 4 )
Row 1: knit 2, knit into the back of the next stitch, purl 1. Repeat from till there are 2 stitches left. Knit 2.
Repeat that one row every row until you can stand it no longer, your scarf is long enough or you run out of yarn, whatever comes first.

this is a woven scarf (used my loom). it's cotton from Liza Souza (discontinued now but soooooooo soft)

Held 3 yarns together and did a knit one purl one rib:
I'm thinking about unraveling this one and making a different scarf with it... this is awesome handspun (the colors are really pretty) but the scarf curls and just isn't that interesting:

I used the following yarns held together:
Artfibers Golden Chai - color red/pink multi
Lisa Souza Petal - color garnet
Malabrigo Yarn Merino Worsted - color red mahagony
Rowan Kid Classic - color crushed velvet
it's knit on size 15 needles and is just 1 x 1 rib and fringe.
made with handspun yarn. here is the pattern.
I cast on 16 stitches with size 11 needles.
Using merino 2 ply yarn and stitch pattern 139 (sunrise, sunset) from Vogue Knitting Stictionary.
cast on 21 stitches. (size 10 needles)
and also using FatCatKnits Merino Roving in "industry" navajo plied yarn. size 10 needles
cast on a multiple of 3 sts
The pattern repeat is just K2, P1 on each side
